2. Joshua McMillon

Butch Jones has made locking down the state of Tennessee one of his top priorities, and so far he’s done a good job of securing the top talent in the Vols’ home state. If he hopes to continue doing so, gaining a commitment from outside linebacker Joshua MicMillon is a must.

McMillon, the 4-star product from Memphis, is rated the No. 219 best player in the country and the 7th best prospect in the state of Tennessee. He measures in at 6-4, 249 lbs, which is already elite size for a linebacker.

In 6 games, McMillon amassed 23 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, an interception, and 2 passes defended (according to Be Recruited). It’s clear McMillon possess the size and athleticism to contribute in the SEC, but the biggest question remains which SEC team he will lend his services to.

Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Vanderbilt are all vying for McMillon. But the Vols can’t focus on just SEC schools either. McMillon also holds offers from Michigan, Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State, and many other schools across the country.

The Vols appear to be behind in McMillon’s recruitment at the moment, and while he is technically an instate recruit, the 6 hour drive from Memphis to Knoxville is longer than the drive for players in most of Georgia, Virginia, and the Carolinas.

McMillon is coveted by many, and the Vols hope he will choose them out of the plethora of schools offering him.
