Tennessee Football: Vols Make Javarius Davis’ Top 10
By Zach Ragan
2015 ATH Javarius Davis released his top ten schools on Friday and the Vols were among his favorites.
Davis, who was offered by Tennessee earlier this week, is a three-star recruit from Jacksonville, FL (Ed White). 247Sports rates him as the 62nd best player in the state of Florida and the 38th best running back in the nation.
According to 247Sports, Davis is 5’9″/173 lbs and runs the 40 in 4.47 seconds. He plays on both sides of the ball, but he might be a bit short for Butch Jones to consider him as a defensive back.
As a running back, Davis hits the hole hard and has breakaway speed. That’s probably where he’ll make his name in college — especially if he can add a few pounds (as is always the case with high school running backs).
Davis acknowledged that the names on his list could change, but as of now those are the schools he’s considering.
Davis looks like the type of player that would fit in great with the Vols’ offensive scheme. It’d be a huge get if Jones and Tennessee could land the Florida native.
