Fox Sports Ranks SEC Quarterbacks
By Zach Ragan
Fox Sports recently ranked the SEC quarterbacks and it’s no surprise that Tennessee’s signal caller was near the bottom of the list.
The rankings (you can find the full list here) have Justin Worley as the starter and place him at 14th in the league.
From Fox Sports:
"Worley had better numbers than others higher on this ranking, but he’s going into his senior season and the page may be turned on him in Knoxville, with sophomore Joshua Dobbs in the race for the starting job in 2014. Whichever QB the Vols choose, that guy has as much to prove as anyone in the league. The good news? There are some weapons to work with, beginning with stud WR Marquez North."
It’s hard to argue with those sentiments.
There’s no guarantee that Worley will be the starter to open the season (that is, however, my expectation), but even if he is it’s not like he tore the league up last season.
Quarterback is still a shaky position for the Vols, but there is help on the horizon. Josh Dobbs should be improved heading into his second season and although I believe Worley will win the job out of camp, I think it’s Dobbs’ job by season’s end.
And if that is the case, you’ll see Dobbs a lot higher on these types of list come 2015.
