Mike Singletary Thinks Cordarrelle Patterson Will Be A Superstar

I think there’s little doubt that most NFL fans are well are of former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson‘s freakish abilities with the ball in his hands.

There’s also little doubt that most think he’ll have a solid, productive NFL career.

But will he be a superstar at the next level?

Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary apparently thinks so.

That’s pretty high praise coming from a hall of fame linebacker.

Patterson definitely has all the tools to be a superstar in the NFL. He’s as elusive as anyone in the league when he gets the ball in the open field. He excels at making defenders miss and his field vision is ridiculous for such a young player.

The only question is one that’s been following Patterson since he left Tennessee a year early — can he put it all together and shed the “raw” label?

The Minnesota Vikings had to find creative ways to get Patterson the ball last season. He’d receive handoffs in the backfield and he caught a lot of short screen passes.

Patterson made the most of those opportunities, but if he wants to be a next-level wide receiver, he’ll have to prove he can be an effective route runner.

The Vikings clearly believe in Patterson as they are poised to make him the team’s featured receiver.

Now he just has to prove he’s worthy of such a title.
