After a bye week, Tennessee will head to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in Sanford Stadium on September 27th. The Vols will likely be 2-1 heading into this game, whereas Georgia’s early season schedule could see them at anywhere from 1-2 to 3-0.
The Bulldogs open the season at home against Clemson before traveling to South Carolina two weeks later. Georgia opens as a favorite to win the SEC East along with South Carolina. Their schedule is favorable, as they do not play Alabama and they will play Auburn in Athens.
While UGA will not have Aaron Murray around anymore, they will welcome back Heisman contending Junior RB Todd Gurley. Junior QB Hutson Mason will take over for the departed Murray.
The Vols will need to be on top of their game in order to have a chance in this one. A win could catapult UT to a fantastic season. Prediction: Just like last season, this will be a barn burner until the very end. Georgia will pull of the close victory at home 37-31. UT falls to 2-2 and will host Florida on October 4th in Neyland Stadium.
