The Vols got a huge pickup when Alvin Kamara announced he’d be transferring to Tennessee for the 2015 season.
Kamara originally signed with Alabama out of high school, but never played a down for the Crimson Tide. He will attend Hutchinson Community College this fall (the same college Cordarrelle Patterson attended before heading to Tennessee) and will have three years of eligibility remaining when he becomes a Vol.
The Georgia native should contribute immediately for the Vols in 2015. Kamara, along with Jalen Hurd, will give the Vols a lethal one-two punch at running back in 2015.
Kamara is a fast runner that excels in the open field. He catches the ball well out of the backfield and is seemingly a perfect fit in Butch Jones’ offense. He’s also tough enough to run between the tackles and pick up the last couple of yards needed to extend a drive.
