Vols Make DeChaun Holiday’s Top Ten

DeChaun Holiday, a 2015 four-star safety from San Marcos, CA (Mission Hills), released his top ten schools on Wednesday and the Vols were among his finalists.
The Vols are in some good company. The only other east coast school to make Holiday’s top ten was Florida State.
Holiday, 6’2″/195 lbs, is rated by 247Sports as the 13th best player in the state of California and the fourth best safety in the nation.
This is obviously a recruit that Tennessee would love to have, but it’s going to be hard for them to beat out hometown schools UCLA and USC.
Regardless, it still says a lot about the state of the Vols that they keep popping up on these recruit’s top ten lists.
Butch Jones has the Vols back on the radar of the top recruits in the nation. A couple of years ago, players outside of the southeast weren’t even blinking an eye when they received an offer from Tennessee.
Now those same players are strongly considering Tennessee.
Just imagine how strongly they’ll be considering the Vols if/when they start winning some games.
