For Homecoming, the Vols will play host to the Chattanooga Mocs on October 11th. Tennessee will be heavily favored in Neyland Stadium, but UTC returns some talent from last seasons 8-4 team.
The Mocs return 8 starters on offense, including Junior QB Jacob Huesman. Huesman was last season’s Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year. On defense, they also return last season’s SoCon Defensive Player of the Year in Senior DE Davis Tull.
UT cannot afford to overlook anyone on their schedule, and must win this matchup if they hope to make a bowl game. By this time in the season, the Vols should have a firm grasp on who they are offensively and playmakers should have already emerged. Look for the Vols to put Chattanooga away early on. Prediction: Tennessee takes it to Chattanooga in the first half and cruises to victory. Vols will win 48-10 and improve to 4-2 with a tough upcoming 3 game stretch coming up. UT will travel to Oxford to take on Ole Miss on October 18th.
