Earlier this month there were reports that five-star 2015 defensive tackle Shy Tuttle would be committing on August 26, but that proved to be incorrect.
Tuttle announced on Saturday evening that he will now be committing on September 26.
The Lexington, NC (North Davidson) native also announced the news on “Big Orange Radio”.
Tuttle, 6’3″/315 lbs, is rated by 247Sports as the top player in the state of North Carolina and the fourth best defensive tackle in the nation.
The general consensus is that Tuttle will be choosing between North Carolina and Tennessee.
The Vols have really gained some momentum lately with Tuttle.
Kahlil McKenzie, a fellow five-star 2015 defensive tackle who is committed to Tennessee, has been actively recruiting Tuttle via Twitter and is partly responsible for that gained momentum.
A potential defensive line with McKenzie and Tuttle in the middle is a scary thought for the rest of the SEC.
