14. Vanderbilt Commodores
Last week: Lost to Georgia, 44-17
A lot of teams are showing improvement in the SEC — Vanderbilt isn’t one of them.
Fortunately for the Commodores, they have an easy matchup coming up this week against Charleston Southern.
At least it should be easy.
Vandy is obviously missing former head coach James Franklin. No matter what you think of him, he was clearly a rising star in the industry.
It’s way too early to pass judgement on Derek Mason, but it’s not looking good so far.
Starting your head coaching career in the SEC is certainly a daunting task. We’ll have to wait and see if Mason is up to the challenge.
