The Tennessee Volunteers recently extended an offer to 2017 running back Anthony McFarland Jr.

McFarland, 5’9″/181 lbs from Hyattsville, MD (DeMatha Catholic), is rated by 247Sports as a four-star recruit. They also rated him as the second best player in the state of Maryland and the sixth best 2017 running back in the nation.

As you can see in the highlights above, McFarland is a quick running back that possesses good field vision and its also adept at catching the ball out of the backfield.

The Maryland native currently holds offers from Clemson, Florida State, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio State, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

McFarland would be a great pickup for the Vols. Running back depth, at least in the foreseeable future, doesn’t look to be a major issue for the Vols. But if there’s one thing that’s true of college football, it’s that you can never have enough depth at any position.
