The Tennessee Volunteers will take on the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday with the hopes of winning their fifth game of the season.
On Tuesday, Vols head coach Butch Jones met with the media to discuss team 118 and their upcoming game against Kentucky.
If you weren’t able to catch the presser, here are the highlights.
- Butch Jones expects running back Marlin Lane to play on Saturday.
- True freshman running back Derrell Scott suffered a thumb injury and while he’ll be available for the Kentucky game, he will wear a small cast.
- Jones confirmed that JuCo transfer Dontavius Blair (offensive tackle) is indeed redshirting this season.
- There will be no smokey gray jerseys this weekend against Kentucky. Jones wouldn’t commit to the team wearing them this season.
- Marquez North practiced on Tuesday and is also expected to play on Saturday.
- Jones said the staff will let Jacob Gilliam go “as far as he can handle”. The right tackle is playing with a torn ACL.
- Jones said Joshua Dobbs is continuing to get better, he just needs to be consistent.
The Vols will take on Kentucky on Saturday at 4:00 PM ET. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
