The Tennessee Volunteers will kick off the Donnie Tyndall era on Friday evening against Shaka Smart and the VCU Rams.
This is the second straight season the Vols are starting the season away from Knoxville.
Friday night’s game is part of the Quicken Loans Veteran Class in Annapolis, MD.
Tennessee is coming off a 24-13 season, which included a trip to the Sweet 16.
Expectations aren’t quite as high for the Vols this season, as they lost key contributors Jarnell Stokes, Jordan McRae and Jeronne Maymon.
Tennessee will now lean on veterans Josh Richardson and Armani Moore.
