Redshirt junior defensive back Brian Randolph was ejected in the second half of Tennessee’s game against Kentucky.
Randolph as flagged for a late hit on Wildcats quarterback Patrick Towles. The play was reviewed an ultimately upheld.
Since the play happened in the second half of the game, Randolph will miss the first half of Tennessee’s next game, which is next Saturday against Missouri.
That’s a big blow for the Volunteers. Randolph is the Vols’ starting strong safety. His abscence in the first half next Saturday means we should see more of true freshman Todd Kelly Jr.
Prior to Randolph’s ejection, he was having his best game of the season. The Georgia native had 8 tackles and one interception, which he returned for his first career touchdown.
