Vols Football: Center Mack Crowder Considered Doubtful For Mizzou Game
By Zach Ragan
Tennessee will likely use yet another starting offensive line combination when they take on Missouri this Saturday, as redshirt junior Mack Crowder is considered doubtful for the game.
Crowder, who has started each game at center this season, suffered a high ankle sprain and knee sprain in the Vols’ win against Kentucky last Saturday.
Sophomore Dylan Wiesman took over at center after Crowder’s injury. He will likely get the start if Crowder is indeed unable to go. Though it’s worth noting that Butch Jones suggested left guard Marcus Jackson and backup right Coleman Thomas (who played center in high school) could also be possibilities at center. However, I would be surprised if it’s not Wiesman getting the start.
UT starting quarterback Joshua Dobbs and Wiesman are roommates and the former seems to have plenty of faith in the latter, saying “He’s [Wiesman] done a lot of good things on the practice field. We have good chemistry. He will be ready to go”.
The Vols’ offensive line was finally starting to click. While this will certainly be a set-back, I think Dylan Wiesman is plenty capable of handling starting duties against Missouri.
