For the third straight season, the Vanderbilt Commodores stand between the Tennessee Vols and a bowl berth.
Unlike other years, however, there’s a lot of confidence in Knoxville that this is the year the Volunteers finally return to bowl eligibility.
Tennessee hasn’t been to a bowl game since 2010. Late season losses to Vanderbilt the past two seasons have doomed the Vols.
There’s little doubt that Tennessee is a team on the rise. But if the Vols don’t make a bowl game this season, things could get very ugly on Rocky Top during the off-season.
With so much on the line, this is easily Butch Jones’ biggest game since coming to UT.
