Vols React To Gator Bowl Announcement

The SEC announced on Sunday evening (after a day of wild speculation) that Tennessee will play Iowa in the Gator Bowl (now known as the TaxSlayer Bowl) on January 2.

Tennessee’s players, who had went through bowl practice on Sunday and had already left the complex, were called back for an emergency team meeting.

Butch Jones then delivered the news they’d been waiting all day to hear.

It’s been a long time since the Vols had a reason to celebrate in December.

With the news of their bowl game destination now confirmed, they’ll get a chance to celebrate in January too.
