The Tennessee Volunteers continued their pilgrimage through the Tar Heel state on Wednesday, offering 2017 four-star wide receiver J.T. Cauthen.
Cauthen, 6’1″/200 lbs from Waxhaw, NC (Cuthbertson High School) is a high school teammate of current Vols quarterback commit Austin Kendall.
247Sports rates Cauthen as the second best 2017 player in the state of North Carolina and the 13th best 2017 wide receiver in the nation. Cauthen has offers from Clemson, NC State, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Cauthen is set to be one of the top 2017 players in the nation. This is a guy the Tennessee Volunteers definitely want to land.
The Vols will obviously have a pretty decent shot, considering their recent success in the area and the fact that Kendall is committed to Tennessee.
Tennessee’s reputation as Wide Receiver U could definitely help to sway Cauthen toward Knoxville.
