Vols Recruiting: Darrin Kirkland Jr. Announcement Time

One of the Vols’ top remaining 2015 targets, four-star linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr., will announce his college decision on December 15 at 4:00 PM ET.
Kirkland, a 6’2″/235 lb recruit from Indianapolis, IN (Lawrence Central), was previously scheduled to announce his decision on January 3.
The Indiana native will be choosing between Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas.
With the recent decommitment of 2015 linebacker Cecil Cherry, this a guy the Volunteers really need to land.
Kirkland is rated by 247Sports as the third best 2015 player in the state of Indiana and the fifth best 2015 inside linebacker in the nation.
Butch Jones, Tommy Thigpen and Steve Stripling recently had an in-home visit with Kirkland, in hopes of closing the deal with the talented linebacker.
Things are trending in the right direction for the Vols in Kirkland’s recruitment. Anything can happen, and Kirkland has reportedly already made up his mind, but I think this is a guy the Vols get on Monday.
