Vols Recruiting: Josh Ross Offered By Tennessee
By Zach Ragan
The Tennessee Volunteers continued their quest through Michigan this week, offering four-star 2017 linebacker Josh Ross.
Ross is a 6’1/210 lb inside linebacker from West Bloomfield, MI (St. Mary’s). 247Sports rates him as the third best 2017 player in the state of Michigan and the second best 2017 inside linebacker in the nation.
Ross has early offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
80% of the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions have Ross committing to Michigan.
We’ve said this quite a few times before, but we’ll mention it again. Even with Butch Jones’ strong recruiting ties in the state of Michigan, it’s going to be hard for the Vols to pull a top prospect out of that area. Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State pretty much have that part of the country locked up.
But then again, if Tennessee can get a kid like Ross on campus, they’ll immediately be a factor in his recruitment.
