Alvin Kamara Officially A Vol

The Tennessee Volunteers welcomed the first member of their 2015 recruiting class on Wednesday — four-star JuCo running back Alvin Kamara.

Kamara, 5’11″/200 lbs from Norcross, GA, was originally part of Alabama’s 2013 recruiting class. The Georgia native left Tuscaloosa after redshirting during the 2013 season. He then enrolled at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas (the same community college where former Vol standout Cordarrelle Patterson played).

While at Hutchinson, Kamara rushed for 1,211 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also caught 18 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns.

Kamara will have three years of eligibility remaining.

The addition of Kamara gives the Vols a ridiculous one-two punch at running back.

Kamara will join freshman sensation Jalen Hurd in the Vols’ backfield in 2015.

The Vols are gearing up for a run at the SEC East in 2015. There’s no reason to think they can’t compete with the likes of Georgia and Missouri next season.
