Vol Assistant Takes Job With Colorado State

Terry Fair, a defensive quality control assistant with Tennessee, will be part of Mike Bobo’s new staff at Colorado State, according to a report from Sports Illustrated.

Fair, who was a cornerback with the Volunteers from 1994-97 will coach Colorado State’s cornerbacks.

The former Vol had been back at UT since 2013, when he was hired by Butch Jones.

Fair is a rapidly rising coaching commodity and the decision to take on a bigger role at Colorado State was obviously a no-brainer.

The Vols, as with all schools, will eventually lose more assistants as well. It’s just part of the industry. Guys want to keep advancing and there aren’t always opportunities to advance in their current position.

However, it wouldn’t shock me if Fair makes his way back to Rocky Top one day. If a defensive opening ever arises, you can bet that Terry Fair will be on the short-list of names to fill the position.
