Stephen Griffin, Defensive Back

One of the most unheralded recruits in the 2015 class, Stephen Griffin has a chance to surprise fans as a freshman and in the years to come.

Griffin is rated merely as a 3-star safety out of Charlotte, NC, but so were Cam Sutton, a potential future NFL player, and Emmanuel Moseley, a key contributor for the Vols in 2015. Griffin has great size at 6-3, 190 lbs, and he projects to play at one of the safety positions.

In his senior season, Griffin made 73 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss, 3 interceptions, and 6 pass break-ups. He is a relentless player with a nose for the ball.

Griffin may not be the highest-rated prospect coming in the the 2015 class, but he may be one of the most underrated ones, and he could be another 3-star recruit under Butch Jones who surpasses his star rating in college.
