Jack Jones, Offensive Lineman
The highest-rated offensive lineman in Tennessee’s 2015 class thus far, Jack Jones is yet another in-state prospect with plenty of hype preceding him.
As the No. 137 overall player and 4th best player in the state, Jones projects as a quality offensive lineman for the Vols moving forward. At Oakland, Jones played against some stellar competition in the mid-state area, and his teammate Kyle Oliver is another Tennessee commit in the 2015 class.
At 6-5, 290 lbs., Jones already has the right frame and size to translate into a solid SEC offensive lineman. He displayed his resiliency in his senior season, missing 3 games to an MCL strain but still amassing 125 pancake blocks.
Jones is a two-time recipient of the Mr. Tennessee Lineman of the Year award, winning it in both 2013 and 2014, becoming the first player since Eric Locke (1996-97) to win a Mr. Tennessee award in back-to-back years from Rutherford County.
Tennessee’s offensive line was easily its weakest unit in 2014, and it needs all the reinforcements it can get for 2015. Jones looks to give the group an immediate boost, and it’ll be worth watching to see if he is used as a tackle or a guard moving forward.
