1. Checker Neyland Is A Success
When Checker Neyland was first proposed by Vol fan Spencer Barnett for Tennessee’s game against Florida, it seemed like a long shot — even for some of the best fans in college football.
But the Big Orange faithful are a loyal bunch. And they’ve taken to social media better than almost any other fanbase in the nation.
A website was created to tell fans what color they needed to wear. The school itself then got behind the idea and the rest was history.
The result was stunning on television. It was even more impressive as I stood on the UT sideline that afternoon in front of 102,000 orange and white clad fans.
Checker Neyland proved that Knoxville, TN is home to the best fans in college football.
