Shy Tuttle — Defensive Tackle

6’3″/313 lbs

Status: Enrolled

Tennessee’s interior defensive line lacked ideal size in 2014.

That shouldn’t be a problem in 2015.

Incoming true freshman Shy Tuttle is already the ideal size for a defensive tackle. His status as an early enrollee means he should be in SEC shape by the time the season rolls around.

It’s hard to know how much Tuttle will play as a freshman. He could win a starting job out of camp (like Derek Barnett), or he could play behind Owen Williams and work his way into the starting lineup.

Whatever the case may be, there’s little doubt that Tuttle will see a good deal of playing time in 2015.

The Vols already are one of the best pass rushing defenses in the SEC. Their run defense should get a lot better with the addition of Shy Tuttle.
