Kyle Oliver — Tight End
6’5″/230 lbs
Status: Committed
Kyle Oliver is an under-the-radar player that could come in and surprise some folks.
The Tennessee native will play behind de facto starter Ethan Wolf. There are a couple of guys that will be ahead of Oliver by default, but again, the talent will rise (it will help Oliver that Daniel Helm is no longer part of the program).
I’m probably a bit higher on Oliver than most, but I think he can be a difference maker at Tennessee. He’s exactly the type of tight end that’s thriving in today’s game. Tall, with a big catch radius and quick (he has some nice open field moves).
The Vols need to use their tight ends more in 2015. A combination of Wolf/Oliver could be an exciting tandem to watch.
