Preston Williams — Wide Receiver
6’4″/191 lbs
Status: Committed
Tennessee has a plethora of wide receivers. There’s no denying that.
But we saw last season that it doesn’t take long to deplete depth at a position.
Preston Williams probably won’t break the receiver rotation to start the season, even though he’s one of the top five rated wide receivers in the nation.
That’s because the Vols have Marquez North, Pig Howard, Von Pearson, Josh Malone, Josh Smith, Jason Croom and Vic Wharton already on the depth chart.
But if a couple of those guys get hurt, then the door for Williams will be wide open.
And if Williams breaks into the lineup, he’ll be there to stay.
Williams has the talent to help the Vols confirm their reputation as “WRU”. That’s exactly what he’ll do by the time he’s done on Rocky Top.
