"The Tennessee basketball team travels to Columbia, Mo., for an SEC road test at Missouri Saturday (6 p.m. ET, SEC Network). The Volunteers (10-5, 2-1 SEC) have already managed one conference road win, which they notched in their league opener earlier last week at Mississippi State.A victory Saturday vs. the Tigers (7-9, 1-2 SEC) would mark the first time since 2009 that Tennessee won its first two SEC road games."

From The Daily Times

"The Tennessee Lady Vols were in a gloomy mood, finding plenty of fault with their offense, defense and rebounding.Sometimes winning by a dozen points isn’t enough for the sixth-ranked Lady Vols, who smothered Auburn defensively in a 54-42 victory on Thursday night.“I think if you were to walk into the locker room somebody might have thought we lost,” said Andraya Carter, who scored 11 points and made three first-half 3-pointers. “It’s a win but it doesn’t feel like a win. It doesn’t feel like a Lady Vol win."

From ESPN

"Friday marks the 20th anniversary of the first UConn-Tennessee women’s basketball game, a 77-66 Huskies victory that started the series that became its own mega-chapter in the sport’s lore. That Jan. 16, 1995, contest was played on a Monday afternoon on Martin Luther King Day at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut. The Associated Press poll voting was delayed a day to account for the result, which then flipped the teams’ rankings as UConn took over No. 1 and Tennessee went to No. 2."
