On National Signing Day, Butch Jones alluded to the possibility that Tennessee may have some additions as the recruiting process continued.
That possibility became a reality on Saturday, as the Vols reportedly added three-star 2015 running back Joseph Young.
Young, who was previously committed to UNC-Charlotte, is a three-star running back from Winnsboro, SC (Fairfield Central). 247Sports rates him as the 144th best 2015 running back in the nation and the 26th best 2015 player in the state of South Carolina.
Young, 6’0″/190 lbs, is a likely blueshirt candidate, meaning his scholarship would count toward next year’s class.
The Vols desperately need running back depth, especially with the loss of Kendall Bussey to Texas A&M.
Young’s addition to the Tennessee roster likely signals that running back Treyvon Paulk returning to the Vols is not in the plans.
Any depth is good depth for the Vols at this point. Young is a player that was added out of immediate necessity.
