"Tennessee Rep. Roger Kane, R-Knoxville, is hosting Lady Vols Day on the Hill on Wednesday to raise awareness to the University of Tennessee’s decision to discontinue the Lady Vols nickname for all teams except women’s basketball.The university decided to change the name for branding reasons in conjunction with its new Nike partnership, which begins July 1. Women’s athletics teams currently are called Lady Vols, but moving forward they will be called the Volunteers, like the university’s men’s teams.Read more at WBIR"
