2016 Vol target Ikenna Okeke added to his growing list of scholarship offers on Monday, as Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt both offered the three-star safety/wide receiver from Smyrna, TN (Smyrna).

Okeke, 6’2″/200 lbs, is rated by 247Sports as the 12th best 2016 player in the state of Tennessee and the 17th best 2016 safety in the nation.  In addition to his offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh, Okeke also has offers from Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis and Purdue.

The Vols are most likely recruiting Okeke as a safety and not a wide receiver. His primary recruiters are defensive assistants Willie Martinez and Tommy Thigpen.

Tennessee has added some nice depth to their secondary, setting themselves up to be able to bring in a player like Okeke and develop him at the appropriate pace.

There’s no reported time table for when Okeke will commit to a school, but you have to believe the Vols are in pretty good shape with him.
