Florida State Commit Offered By Vols
By Zach Ragan
2016 four-star defensive end Josh Brown, who was in Knoxville this past weekend for Tennessee’s junior day, picked up an offer from the Vols.
Brown is a 6’3″/220 lb defensive end from Charlotte, NC (Mallard Creek — the same high school that current Vol Marquez North attended).
The North Carolina native, who also has offers from LSU, Michigan, North Carolina and various others, is currently committed to Florida State. Brown committed to the Seminoles on September 21.
According to 247Sports, former Tennessee Volunteers running back/assistant coach Jay Graham is one of Brown’s main recruiters at Florida State. It’s not often that Graham goes head-to-head with his alma mater to battle for a recruit, but this is one of those instances.
Butch Jones and the Volunteers have done a great job of recruiting in central North Carolina. It won’t be easy to flip Brown from Florida State, but the Vols certainly have the tools to make it happen.
Tennessee has a lot of hype surrounding its program right now. While the hype might place a lot of expectations on the current roster, it can only help in recruiting.
