"Like nearly every inch of wall space inside the Anderson Training Center, the hallway that leads to the small reception area outside the office of Tennessee football coach Butch Jones is covered in pictures and graphics.More than a couple of the frames are from the Volunteers’ 45-28 win against Iowa in the TaxSlayer Bowl seven weeks ago, the program’s first postseason success in seven seasons.That success is part of the reason Tennessee is being pegged for more next season.Since the Vols finished the 2014 season with four wins in five games and put the final touches on a second consecutive top-five recruiting class, elevated expectations have been rolling in for a program that’s not had this kind of offseason attention in years.Read more at The Times Free Press"

"Looking at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic schedule before the tournament, Tennessee’s most challenging day in Cathedral City, Calif., appeared to be Thursday, when the Lady Vols’ softball team faced No. 23 Notre Dame and No. 8 Florida State.But Tennessee won those games by a combined score of 12-5.Instead, the toughest day turned out to be Saturday, when the Lady Vols lost twice to unranked teams, first 4-3 to Utah and then 5-2 against Nebraska.No. 10 Tennessee (11-3) has lost three straight after beginning the season 11-0. "Ole Miss held on for a 59-57 win over Tennessee as Josh Richardson’s jumper as time expired rimmed out.Ole Miss (19-8, 10-4 SEC) won for the eighth time in nine games while the Vols dropped their third game in a row and stand at 14-12 overall and 6-8 in the league.Junior Armani Moore led Tennessee with 15 points and nine rebounds. Richardson tallied 13 points while Kevin Punter added 12, making four 3-pointers.Rebel Stefan Moody was the game’s top scorer with 22 points as he knocked down 6-of-11 from 3-point range.
