It’s Time For Spring….And Butch Jones Agrees

If you live in the southeastern region of the United States  — and chances are good that you do — then like me, you’re probably incredibly tired of this purgatory called winter.

Snow and ice have plagued most of us over the past week, forcing us to suffer through power outages, travel issues and a general inability to enjoy the great outdoors.

Sub-zero temperatures and record lows have me questioning my decision to not live in South Florida. I can’t really think of a good reason to suffer through the bitter cold, but here I am.

We’re of course nearing the end of winter, but the frigid season won’t turn without putting up a hell of a fight.

Once we do finally arrive to the euphoria known as spring, we’ll have baseball’s opening day on the horizon (let’s go Mets?!?!), spring football practice and the choice to not wear tennis shoes.

We’ll also have the ability to actually go outside for more than a two minute time period that’s spent hurriedly running to the mail box or taking your trash to the curb and quickly throwing your hand up to your neighbor, all while you’re thinking about how much warmer it is inside your house.

If you think I’m being a bit dramatic, then don’t take my word for it. Butch Jones will also tell you how much winter sucks.

No disrespect Butch, but while you’re coaching football in mid-April, I’ll be at the coast with a margarita on the way.

If you’re like me, then you can’t wait for spring to get here. If you’re not like me and Butch…..then, well, I’m not sure what’s wrong with you.

Maybe Mike Bajakian wasn’t so crazy for taking that job in Tampa after all?
