So apparently someone from Deeyung Entertainment redesigned a bunch of college football helmets and Tennessee, naturally, was one of the helmets redesigned (H/T Bro Bible).
In my extremely humble opinion, Tennessee’s traditional Power T helmet is as perfect as it gets. But I do realize that some folks like to change it up a bit.
If you’re one of those folks, then the redesigned Vols helmet is something you might fancy.
It’s definitely a unique design and fun way to incorporate Tennessee’s mascot.
However, I just don’t see any way that UT could ever take the field in a helmet other than their traditional white helmet with the orange Power T.
(And considering the amount of times that Butch Jones uses the phrase “Power T”, I imagine he feels the same).
Tennessee’s new uniform contract with Nike begins this summer. So we might see some new concepts incorporated into Tennessee’s uniforms. But I wouldn’t hold my breath for a new helmet — especially one with Smokey on it.
The redesigned helmet would look great on a mantle or displayed proudly in someone’s office, but I think it’s best left on the sideline come gameday.
