Tennessee’s Josh Dobbs Among Sporting News’ Top 25 2015 QB’s

For the past several seasons, when any “Top Quarterbacks” list was published, Vol fans didn’t even bother skimming through to see if a UT player was mentioned.

But those days are finally over.

Tennessee now has a starting quarterback that’s garnering some national attention.

Josh Dobbs, thanks to his performance after taking over as Tennessee’s starting quarterback midway through 2014, is making his way onto numerous pre-season lists.

The third-year signal caller is poised to lead the Volunteers back to the promised land in 2015 and he’s already being recognized as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation.

Sporting News recently published their top 25 quarterbacks of 2015 and Dobbs came in at 23 on the list.

Here’s what Sporting News had to say about the Georgia native.

"The Volunteers are a hot pick to take the SEC East, and Dobbs’ improved play down the stretch is a big reason why. Dobbs scored eight rushing TDs in six starts, and he’s the dual-threat Butch Jones is building around. Don’t act surprised when Tennessee starts getting attention in September."

There are a lot of expectations being placed on the Volunteers in 2015, but Dobbs is more than capable of handling those expectations.

Tennessee still has some issues they have to work out (the offensive line has to take a step forward in 2015 for the Vols to be successful), but don’t be surprised if UT is playing in Atlanta come December.
