The Missouri Tigers only recently joined the SEC, so most of their history will be as a member of the Big 12. But they have a successful postseason past by any conference’s standards.

Missouri doesn’t often miss the Big Dance, as the biggest gap between appearances for the Tigers since the tournament expansion came when they missed the tournament from 2004-08. But that history is also littered with a lot of one-and-done appearances and brief runs.

The Tigers made it to the Sweet Sixteen in 1989, and they’ve made 3 Elite Eight runs in their history, making it to that stage of the tournament in 1994, 2002, and 2009. But their last 3 appearances have gone winless, and the Tigers haven’t won a tournament game since 2010.

While Missouri hasn’t won an SEC Tournament championship yet, they had some success in the Big 12 Tournament when they were a member of that conference. They won the Big 12 Tournament twice, once in 2009 and again in 2012. They also made appearances in the championship in 1997 and 2003.

Missouri has had their share of success in postseason play, but they haven’t made it beyond the Elite Eight and have yet to actually win an SEC Tournament. They have a richer postseason history than most SEC teams, but the Tigers aren’t close to the top just yet.
