The Gamecocks have very little postseason history, having only made the NCAA Tournament 8 times in its entire history. In fact, South Carolina hasn’t won a game in the Big Dance since 1973.

All 4 of South Carolina’s tournament wins came in the 1972 and 1973 tournaments when they won 2 games apiece in both tournaments. The Gamecocks haven’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2004, losing 59-43 to Memphis in the 1st round.

Since 1979, the Gamecocks have only made 2 SEC Tournament championship game appearances, losing in 1998 to Kentucky and in 2006 to Florida.

South Carolina is easily the least prestigious postseason team in the SEC, making almost no impact on the postseason in the last decade.
