12. Texas A&M Aggies

NCAA Tournament Appearances: 12

Sweet Sixteens: 1

Elite Eights: None

Final Fours: None

National Championship Appearances: None

National Championships: None

SEC (and Big 12) Tournament Championships: None

While the Texas A&M Aggies have more tournament appearances than a team ahead of them on the rankings, their inability to win a conference tournament in either the Big 12 or SEC keeps them lower in the rankings.

The Aggies have yet to make the NCAA Tournament since joining the SEC, but they made 6 straight appearances from 2006-11, winning at least a game in every appearance aside from 2011. They even made the Sweet Sixteen in 2007.

But Texas A&M’s 2006 tournament appearance was their first in nearly two decades, marking their first NCAA Tournament game since 1987 and earning their first tournament victory since 1980.

While A&M had somewhat recent success in the NCAA Tournament, they don’t have an overall history of prominence in the postseason. Especially in conference tournaments.

The Aggies have yet to appear in a conference tournament championship game. They didn’t make the final game of the tournament any year in the Big 12, and they have yet to make much noise in the SEC Tournament either.

Texas A&M has had mild recent success in the NCAA Tournament, but they haven’t earned a bid to the Bid Dance since 2011. And they’ve never even appeared in a conference championship game, thus their lower ranking.
