Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
The Tennessee Volunteers, despite their penchant for Orange, are doing their part today by celebrating the Irish holiday.
In doing so, the Vols’ photo account (@Vol_Photos) took a small swipe at the most the famous of all the Irish in college football — Notre Dame.
That photo, of course, is from the “Miracle at South Bend” in 1991.
Tennessee, who is 4-4 all-time against the Fighting Irish, overcame a 24 point deficit to beat Notre Dame in 1991.
However, if Notre Dame wanted to get even, they could simply mention the previous two meetings between the Vols and the Irish.
Both games, in 2004 and 2005, were won by Notre Dame.
The “jab”, naturally, at Notre Dame is all in good fun.
