The Tennessee Volunteers announced on Wednesday that they have scheduled a home-and-home series with the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Pittsburgh will play at Neyland Stadium on September 11, 2021. Tennessee will then travel to Pittsburgh on September 10, 2022 to play at Heinz Field.
According to UTSports.com, Tennessee’s game at Pittsburgh will be the first time the Volunteers have ever played in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Vols are 0-2 all-time against Pittsburgh, losing to the Panthers in 1980 and 1983.
Tennessee’s game against Pittsburgh, who is a member of the ACC, will satisfy the Vols’ “Power 5” opponent obligation.
The Volunteers don’t currently have any other opponents scheduled for the 2021 or 2022 seasons.
