Owens will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6’10” forward from Odenton, MD started in five games for the Vols as a freshman this past season. In 28 games, he averaged 1.2 points per game while playing 7.6 minutes per game.
Owens’ departure from Tennessee leaves new head coach Rick Barnes with a significant hole to fill.
Low post players aren’t always easy to find, but Barnes has a great reputation on his side. He shouldn’t have any problem bringing talent to Rocky Top.
