Villanova Transfer Has His Eye On The Vols

Villanova transfer Dylan Ennis has put the Tennessee Volunteers among his list of potential destinations.

The 6’2″ guard, a graduate transfer who will be able to play immediately at the school he chooses, placed the Vols into consideration with several top notch programs.

If the 23 year old were to land in Knoxville, he would be the point guard Tennessee has been lacking. Ennis, who is the older brother of Milwaukee Bucks rookie Tyler Ennis, averaged 9.9 points per game and 3.5 assists per game last season at Villanova.

Ennis is not noted for being a terrific shooter, as he shot around 39 percent in his two years at Nova. However, he is guy who is not afraid to get in the lane to create opportunities and he was fairly successful at Nova at getting out on fast breaks.

He would also bring something that this team does not have, which is big game experience. I’m not talking Final Four experience, but Ennis was a part of two NCAA tournament teams in his two seasons with the Wildcats. Both of those were second round exits, but he is still someone who knows what it takes to get there.

Coach Rick Barnes’s might be looking to add young talent to build the future, but if his goal is to get to the tournament next year then he may want to give Ennis serious consideration.
