Vols In Athlon Sports’ Top 25

The positive pre-season vibes continued for the Tennessee Vols this week, as they’re ranked 22nd in Athlon Sports pre-season top 25.

Here’s what Athlon Sports had to say about Tennessee football:
"Tennessee is a program on the rise entering its third year under coach Butch Jones. The Volunteers improved from 5-7 in 2013 to 7-6 in 2014 and finished last season with a dominant win over Iowa in the TaxSlayer Bowl. With 17 returning starters, Tennessee is poised for another jump in its win total and final ranking in 2015."
Athlon Sports predicts the Volunteers will finish second in the SEC East.
The Vols are certainly a team on the rise and a trendy pre-season pick to compete for the SEC East crown.
If Tennessee can stay healthy, there’s no reason to think they won’t be a serious contender to play in Atlanta this December.
