Jason Croom Will Lead The Vols In Receiving Touchdowns

OK, so this really isn’t as bold as it sounds.

In theory, Marquez North should lead the Vols in touchdowns. He’s big, fast and has strong hands. He’s essentially the perfect red zone target.

But so far — and part of this is due to nagging injuries — North hasn’t delivered on his four-star hype.

I’m expecting a breakout season for North in 2015, but I think it will be Croom that leads Tennessee in receiving touchdowns.

Croom nearly led the Vols in receiving touchdowns in 2014, finishing tied for second on the team with four (Von Pearson led the team with five; Marquez North also had four).

Three of Croom’s four receiving touchdowns in 2014 came with Josh Dobbs as the starting quarterback. None of North’s touchdown’s came with Dobbs at the helm.

If Dobbs continues to look for Croom in the redzone, he could easily finish with the most receiving touchdowns on Tennessee’s roster.
