Jauan Jennings Potentially Facing Criminal Charges

Vols true freshman quarterback Jauan Jennings could possibly be facing criminal charges, according to a report from WGNS Radio in Murfreesboro, TN.

From WGNS:

"Former Blackman High School and University of Tennessee football standout Jauan Jennings could face criminal charges after an alleged incident at a graduation party. Jennings allegedly assaulted an Oakland graduate and after damaging the car the teen was driving, took valuables from inside."

This is definitely not good news for Tennessee. You never want to see any student-athlete under investigation, especially a player with the athletic promise of Jennings.

However, this most likely won’t affect the Vols in 2015.

Jennings, while a gifted athlete, would, at best, be the third quarterback on the Vols’ depth chart in 2015.

In fact, Jennings could even be the fourth quarterback on Tennessee’s depth chart, depending on what kind of impact Sheriron Jones makes later this summer.

The Vols have apparently known about the alleged incident for a while, according to Rivals.

Again, this isn’t a good look for the Vols and there’s a high possibility, given Butch Jones’ history in these type of situations, that Jennings is suspended indefinitely.
