This is the softball home jersey. It is hard to see through this photo, but the checkerboard design is featured on the side. The Nike sign is clearly visible on the pants and on the shirt, and the orange sleeves make things look more impressive and eye-opening.
Junior Pitcher/Outfielder Rainey Gaffin wore this uniform on the runway and rocked it with style. Fans in Knoxville should love seeing these uniforms next fall, and maybe this will help the Vols finally break through and win the Women’s College World Series.
Here are the road uniforms.
This was worn by Sophomore Catcher/Infielder Annie Aldrete. This is the first preview of the new style for Tennessee which features what we will call “Smoky Grey,” named for the dog Smoky and obviously the Smoky Mountains.
The socks remain white. Overall, this particular jersey is not great because the “Tennessee” spelled out in orange across the grey jersey can be hard to read. It would have been much better if it said “Vols” or just had a Power T on the front of it. And the white socks would be better if they were orange.
But it is still cool that a new color representative of Tennessee is part of the program now. Let’s move to another sport featured on the runway.
