Former Vol Tobias Harris Returning To Orlando

Former University of Tennessee basketball player Tobias Harris is reportedly returning to the Orlando Magic.

The restricted free agent signed a four-year, $64 million dollar deal. Being an RFA, Harris had the opportunity to speak to other teams, and those teams could offer Harris a contract. However, Orlando would ultimately be able to match whatever contract offer that would be given.

In the end, it did not reach that point.

Harris had drawn strong consideration from the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons, and was thought to be on his way out of Orlando. Especially considering that recently hired coach Scott Skiles and Harris did not have a good relationship when they were together with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Magic surprisingly agreed to a deal with Harris before an offer was made by another team.

The small forward has averaged just over 17 points per game during his time with the Magic and is now solidified as a core member in the future of Orlando basketball.

The new contract with the Magic shows that whatever happened in Milwaukee with Skiles is staying in the past.
