4. How many freshmen could see significant action this year?

With another heavy recruiting class brought in, there is no way Butch Jones does not plan to use a good bit of them for this year. Some of them will have to immediately step in and fill voids that will inevitably be left through injuries.

The question is, who will they be?

It will not be immediately clear until all the newcomers arrive on campus in August, but it is still a question we all want answered. Jones has to be prepared for this, and there have to be a few early enrollees. Defensive end Andrew Butcher, quarterback Quinten Dormady, and junior college running back Alvin Kamara were all impressive in spring practice.

Meanwhile, offensive tackle Jack Jones showed potential and the right attitude but had to catch up to the speed of practices, and he will have expectations to be useful this year along with linebacker Darrin Kirkland, Jr. and defensive linemen Kyle Phillips and Shy Tuttle.

Some of these guys should be fully ready to go in the Fall, and perhaps Jones could give us a hint of who those guys are going to be. Knowing there is depth ready to go will be a huge relief for Vols fans.
